University of Pennsylvania Practice

Going to The Palestra today to watch Univ. of Penn's practice. Last time I was there was in 1984-85 season. Had previously gone to coaching clinic at St. Joe's with Chuck Daly, Jim Lynam, John Chaney, Dr. Tom Davis, Tom Young and Bob Weinhauer as clinicians. Weinhauer, the U of Penn coach had led the Quakers to NCAA Final Foul without a scholarship player. I wrote him to ask if I could watch practice since I was using his offense. After practice, his assistants Doug Collins and Henry Bibby broke down film. Coach Weinhauer then asked if I wanted ticket to the doubleheader that night at the Palestra, 2nd game Georgetown, with Patrick Ewing vs Villanova. Sat behind John Thompson and G'Town won close game. That was the season, where Nova beat the Hoyas in the NCAA finals.
